This spring, we held the 4th annual Race for Ronald, a 5K/10K and a 1 mile Fun Run open to Georgia Tech students, alumni, faculty and staff, Zeta Omicron alumnae and parents, and the Atlanta community. The race was held April 5th at the Tech Tower’s lawn on Georgia Tech’s campus. This year we raised $4,000 to add to last year's over $10,000! In addition to the Race for Ronald, our chapter holds a Silent Auction in the fall during Parent’s Weekend. This fall we raised over $8,000! It was a great event with lots of fun items up for auction, like trips, celebrity meetings, and many more fun prize packs. Atlanta Ronald McDonald House

Another fun fall 2007 event was our Tapas Dinner, held with Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Many Atlanta restaurants donated to our event which raised over $1,000 for Ronald McDonald House. All of these fun philanthropy events are held annually in order to help Zeta Omicron reach our pledge of $25,000 in sponsorship of a room at the new Atlanta Ronald McDonald House. We love the time we spend at the Ronald McDonald Houses, whether it is doing crafts, playing games, cooking dinner, or just hanging out.
In addition to all of the time we spend in serving our national philanthropy, the sisters of Zeta Omicron spend a lot of time in service projects in the Georgia Tech and Atlanta communities. At Georgia Tech, Zeta Omicron has won the Panhellenic Service Award in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 for having the highest number of service hours of all sororities. On campus, Zeta Omicron sisters are represented on Relay For Life Executive Board, HERO Executive Board, Kids @ Kollege Executive Board, The Techwood Tutorial Project, Dance Marathon, Colleges Against Cancer Executive Board, TEAM Buzz, Tech Beautification Day, and MOVE.
In the community, many sisters serve through local churches, as well as Red Carpet Day, KidMix, and many others. In the fall semester 2007, Zeta Omicron joined with the Georgia Tech Football Team to host the First Annual Cookout for Keene, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Shirlock Foundation in honor of a Panhellenic sister who lost her battle with leukemia during Winter Break of 2007.
